ANCHORS - Installation and Testing

For all the projects that are undertaken by our company, we are fully certified and trained to install a wide range of safety systems.

Installation and Comprehensive Test & Inspection for Abseil Anchors and Eyebolts.

London Pro Abseiling Ltd aims to deliver the best installation, test, and inspection services for the anchors used in working at height services. We achieve this by continuous investment in training and improvement of services delivery.

Eyebolt Safety Systems

Rope Access/Work Positioning Systems are in place for works to be carried out using ropes attached to these eyebolt systems, to enable them to carry out regular work.

The key difference between a Rope Access / Fall Arrest / Fall Restraint System and a /Work Positioning System is obviously the type of usage expected. In both cases, the standard of installation is the same, but the period of inspection availability is one of 6 months for Rope Access installations and the inspection period is 12 months for a Fall Arrest installations.

ABSEIL - Rope Access Anchor Testing Regulations

Eyebolts can be installed directly into brickwork, concrete, masonry or steelwork and the anchor systems used for eyebolt installations will vary for each structure. The eyebolts themselves, along with the anchor systems, can be made from stainless steel, galvanized or powder coated materials.

There are clear guidelines outlining the need for inspections and the frequency that these must be carried out to remain compliant. With or without documentation, our experienced team can carry out their test and inspections to the latest standards in place. Our inspection engineers take great pride and care in the inspections they complete to ensure original installation guidelines are followed. We will ensure that our/your abseil anchors comply and ensure safety for use.

Periodic Inspections

Abseil Anchors should be inspected and tested at least every six months as per the lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations 1998, (LOLER).

An examination scheme would consist of,
but not limited to the following information:

  • Eyebolt examination for correct marking
  • Inspection of the surrounding structure for any signs of damage or cracks
  • Ensuring that the structural anchor is one of an approved type and appropriate to the structure requirements
  • As far as a possible check, that positioning requirements are met
  • Where applicable, physical examination
  • Checking that anchor device can be accessed before the user is at risk
  • Where is necessary, up-dating of signage as applicable

Following a successful test, a full report detailing our findings would be issued along with certificates for each individual asset.
